Rowan's background:
Rowan was raised on an isolated sheep and beef farm on the west coast of Golden Bay, where he completed all his primary and secondary schooling by Correspondence.
He was Senior Scholar in physiology at Auckland University in 1998 and top academic student at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in 2001 after five years' study.
He moved to the West Coast and provided rural clinics in Greymouth, Reefton, Westport and Murchison.
His Motueka clinic was opened in 2003, and Takaka in 2005. Rowan now works part-time between the Takaka and Motueka clinics as well as pursing other interests such as farming.
Rowan and Drea are involved in the leadership team at the Kahurangi Christian Church, which meets in various locations in Golden Bay. This is a caring group of rural people, involved in the community in a number of ways.
